นายพิชญเดช โอสถานนท์ ผู้อำนวยการกองความมั่นคงกิจการชายแดนและประเทศรอบบ้าน ในฐานะประธานฝ่ายไทย ได้เข้าร่วมการประชุมคณะทำงานด้านการจัดการชายแดนไทย – มาเลเซีย (Border Management Working Group: BMWG) ครั้งที่ ๓๙ ระหว่างวันที่ ๑๖ – ๑๘ กันยายน ๒๕๖๙ ณ โรงแรมลี การ์เดนส์ พลาซ่า หาดใหญ่ จังหวัดสงขลา เพื่อติดตามความคืบหน้าการดำเนินงานด้านการบริหารจัดการชายแดนไทย – มาเลเซีย โดยมี นาย Mohd Badrie bin Abd Rahim ผู้อำนวยการกองบริหารจัดการชายแดน สภาความมั่นคงแห่งชาติมาเลเซีย เป็นประธานร่วมฝ่ายมาเลเซีย โดยการประชุมดังกล่าวมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อติดตามความคืบหน้าการดำเนินงานด้านการบริหารจัดการชายแดนไทย – มาเลเซีย พร้อมทั้งหารือแนวทางยกระดับความร่วมมือในการรักษาความมั่นคงชายแดน การอำนวยความสะดวกด้านการเดินทางและการค้าชายแดน ตลอดจนการส่งเสริมคุณภาพชีวิตของประชาชนในพื้นที่ชายแดน
ในโอกาสดังกล่าว ประธานทั้งสองฝ่ายยังได้พบหารือเพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนทัศนะเพื่อพัฒนาความร่วมมือเพื่อเสริมสร้างการจัดการชายแดนของทั้งสองประเทศให้มีประสิทธิภาพมากขึ้น อาทิ การจัดตั้งกลไก Joint Technical Committee on Border Matters (JTCBM) ความคืบหน้าการสร้างรั้วเดี่ยวบนเส้นเขตแดนบริเวณด้านนอก และการขยายเวลาทำการจุดผ่านแดนถาวรปาดังเบซาร์ เพื่ออำนวยความสะดวกในการเดินทางและการขนส่งสินค้า ซึ่งนายกรัฐมนตรีทั้งสองประเทศได้เห็นชอบร่วมกัน เมื่อวันที่ ๙ กรกฎาคม ๒๕๖๙
การประชุม BMWG ครั้งที่ ๓๙ ได้สะท้อนถึงความมุ่งมั่นของไทยและมาเลเซียในการเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือด้านการบริหารจัดการชายแดนให้มีประสิทธิภาพมากยิ่งขึ้น เพื่อให้พื้นที่ชายแดนมีความมั่นคง ปลอดภัย และเอื้อประโยชน์ต่อการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจและความเป็นอยู่ของทั้งสองประเทศ
Mr. Pitchayadet Osathanon, Director of Border Security and Neighbouring Countries Affairs Division, led the Thai delegations to attend the 39th Meeting of the Border Management Working Group (BMWG) during 16 – 18 September 2026 at Lee Gardens Plaza Hotel in Hat Yai, Songkhla. The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Mohd Badrie bin Abd. Rahim, Director of the Border Management Division, National Security Council of Malaysia. During the meeting, both sides reviewed the implementation of ongoing bilateral border management initiatives and exchanged views on enhancing cooperation in border security, facilitating cross-border trade and the movement of people, and promoting the well-being of communities along the Thailand–Malaysia border.
On this occasion, the co-chairs also exchanged views on ways to further enhance the effectiveness of bilateral border management, with a focus on key initiatives, including the establishment of the Joint Technical Committee on Border Matters (JTCBM), progress in the construction of a Single Barrier at Dannok – Bukit Kayu Hitam, and the extension of operating hours at the Padang Besar Immigration Checkpoint (ICQ) to facilitate the movement of passengers and goods between the two countries, which was agreed upon by the Prime Ministers of Thailand and Malaysia on 9 July 2026.
The 39th BMWG Meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both countries to strengthening bilateral cooperation in border management and promoting security, sustainability, and mutual benefits of Thailand and Malaysia.
