เมื่อวันจันทร์ที่ ๑๖ ตุลาคม ๒๕๖๖ นายฟิลิปโป กรันดี (Mr. Filippo Grandi) ข้าหลวงใหญ่ผู้ลี้ภัยแห่งสหประชาชาติ และคณะ
ได้เข้าเยี่ยมคารวะและหารือข้อราชการกับ นายฉัตรชัย บางชวด รองเลขาธิการสภาความมั่นคงแห่งชาติ/รักษาราชการแทนเลขาธิการสภาความมั่นคงแห่งชาติ โดยได้มีการแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับสถานการณ์ผู้โยกย้ายถิ่นฐาน และการดำเนินความร่วมมือระหว่าง สมช. กับสำนักงานข้าหลวงใหญ่ผู้ลี้ภัยแห่งสหประชาชาติ (UNHCR) ในการให้ความช่วยเหลือด้านมนุษยธรรมและการดูแลผู้โยกย้ายถิ่นฐานกลุ่มต่าง ๆ ตามหลักพันธกรณีระหว่างประเทศ และกฎหมายภายในของไทย รวมทั้ง การแก้ไขปัญหาบุคคลไร้รัฐไร้สัญชาติ
ซึ่งทั้งสองฝ่ายยังคงเน้นย้ำการประสานความร่วมมือในการให้ความช่วยเหลือกลุ่มต่าง ๆ อย่างต่อเนื่อง ภายใต้หลักการแบ่งเบาภาระและความรับผิดชอบร่วมกัน
On Monday 16th October 2023 Mr. Filippo Grandi United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees paid a courtesy call on Mr. Chatchai Bangchaud Deputy Secretary – General/Acting Secretary – General of the National Security Council. During discussion, both sides exchanged views and opinions on the situation of migration. Mr. Chatchai also expressed appreciation to UNHCR for its close cooperation in areas of humanitarian assistance, taking care of displaced person in line with international obligations and domestic laws including statelessness. In addition, both sides continued to strengthen the cooperation to provide humanitarian support to different groups of displaced persons under the principle of international burden and responsibility – sharing.
