นายพิชญเดช โอสถานนท์ ผู้อำนวยการกองความมั่นคงกิจการชายแดนและประเทศรอบบ้าน ในฐานะประธานฝ่ายไทย ได้เข้าร่วมการประชุมคณะทำงานด้านการจัดการชายแดนไทย – มาเลเซีย (Border Management Working Group: BMWG) ครั้งที่ ๓๘ ณ โรงแรม Royale Chulan Penang รัฐปีนัง ประเทศมาเลเซีย โดยมี นาย Mohd Badrie bin Abd Rahim ผู้อำนวยการกองบริหารจัดการชายแดน สภาความมั่นคงแห่งชาติมาเลเซีย เป็นประธานร่วมฝ่ายมาเลเซีย โดยการประชุมดังกล่าวมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อติดตามความคืบหน้าการดำเนินงานด้านการบริหารจัดการชายแดนไทย – มาเลเซีย พร้อมทั้งหารือแนวทางยกระดับความร่วมมือในการรักษาความมั่นคงชายแดน การอำนวยความสะดวกด้านการเดินทางและการค้าชายแดน ตลอดจนการส่งเสริมคุณภาพชีวิตของประชาชนในพื้นที่ชายแดน
ในโอกาสดังกล่าว ประธานทั้งสองฝ่ายยังได้พบหารือเพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนทัศนะเพื่อพัฒนาความร่วมมือเพื่อเสริมสร้างการจัดการชายแดนของทั้งสองประเทศให้มีประสิทธิภาพมากขึ้น อาทิ การจัดตั้งการจัดตั้งคณะกรรมการเทคนิคกิจการชายแดนร่วมไทย – มาเลเซีย (JTCBM) การแก้ไขปัญหาอาชญากรรมข้ามชาติบริเวณพื้นที่ชายแดน
การประชุม BMWG ครั้งที่ ๓๘ ได้สะท้อนถึงความมุ่งมั่นของไทยและมาเลเซียในการเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือด้านการบริหารจัดการชายแดนให้มีประสิทธิภาพมากยิ่งขึ้น เพื่อให้พื้นที่ชายแดนมีความมั่นคง ปลอดภัย และเอื้อประโยชน์ต่อการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจและความเป็นอยู่ของทั้งสองประเทศ
Mr. Pitchayadet Osathanon, Director of Border Security and Neighbouring Countries Affairs Division, led the Thai delegations to attend the 38th Meeting of the Border Management Working Group (BMWG) during 7 – 10 July 2026 in Penang, Malaysia. The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Mohd Badrie bin Abd. Rahim, Director of the Border Management Division, National Security Council of Malaysia. During the meeting, both sides reviewed the implementation of ongoing border management initiatives between Thailand and Malaysia, exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in border security, facilitating cross-border trade and the movement of people, and promoting the well-being of communities along the border.
On that occasion, the co-chairs exchanged views on ways to further enhance the effectiveness of bilateral border management. Their discussions focused on key initiatives, including the establishment of the Joint Technical Committee on Border Matters (JTCBM), and enhancing cooperation in addressing transnational crime.
The 38th BMWG Meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both countries to strengthen border management cooperation and to promote security, sustainability, and mutual benefits of Thailand and Malaysia.
