The 2nd Meeting of Joint Working Committee on Security Cooperation (JWC-SC) between Thailand and Malaysia

        On February 12, 2026, Mr. Chatchai Bangchaud, Secretary-General of the National Security Council (NSC), co-chaired the 2nd Joint Working Committee on Security Cooperation (JWC-SC) meeting between Thailand and Malaysia with YM Raja Dato’ Nushirwan bin Zainal Abidin, Director-General of the National Security Council of Malaysia via videoconference at the Waldorf Astoria Bangkok.
        During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on regional and international security issues of mutual concern. They also discussed the security cooperation between the two countries, including border security management, counter-terrorism and extremism, transnational crime, as well as cooperation on cybersecurity. The Meeting also agreed to establish a Subcommittee, which will serve a working-level mechanism to facilitate more detailed discussions on policy-level proposals.
        Additionally, the Secretary-General of the NSC hosted a working lunch for H.E. Ambassador Datuk Wan Zaidi Wan Abdullah, Ambassador of Malaysia to Thailand, during which they exchanged views on security issues, including the situation in the Southern Border Provinces and transnational crime.
